HABITATThe Australian Sea Lion is one of the rarest sea lions by only being found on the coasts of Western and South Australia they will be found on the shore line of the beach or breeding on at least one of 50 islands off the coast of Western Australia and South Australia.

REPRODUCTIONAustralian Sea lions breed on at least 50 islands, the breeding cycle, It is a 17 to 18-month cycle and is not connected between colonies. Males will guard females for the right to breed with her when she comes into breeding season, a female comes into season for about 24 hours within 7 to 10 days after she has given birth to her new pup.

DIETThe Australian Sea Lion's diet is a variety of different fish and invertebrates such as octopus, crustaceans and squid. The Sea Lion will occasionally take a sea bird or a penguin.

The lifespan of the Australian Sea Lion is up to 20 years and their average lifespan in the wild is 15 – 18 years.
POPULATION SIZE:
The Australian sea lion is one of the rarest species of sea lion in the world and are only found in Western and south Australia, this means that the total population of these animals is estimated at 15,000 and this is leaving the Australian Sea Lion critically endangered.
